Dru Gilbert

Biography

Dru Gilbert serves as the Manager for the Lake Oswego, Portland, and Salem offices of Wedbush Securities. With over 34 years of experience in the investment business, he began his career at ML Stern & Co in Carmel where he specialized in selling Tax Free Municipal Bonds. In 1999, he was asked to become the Assistant Manager of the Sacramento office of ML Stern and served in that role until 2008, when he left and opened the Sacramento office for Wedbush. In 2014, he began managing the Roseville office as well. In 2017, an opportunity to move back to his native state and take over the management of the Oregon offices of Wedbush was made available, hence he moved back home.

As a manager, Dru relates to his advisors through his strengths of understanding the daily struggles faced by advisors in this difficult, compliance driven industry. His years of managing his own book have given him the ability to understand the extremely important and sensitive product decisions made by his advisors, as well as the knowledge to offer advice on appropriate products for advanced planning scenarios. He inspires his advisors by offering new ideas and strategies to help increase their production and expand their knowledge.

Born in Oregon and raised in Corvallis, he attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas for two years before returning to the Beaver State, and graduating from Oregon State University with his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration. He and his wife, Darci, recently completed a one year remodel on their home in Vancouver, which is their third home remodel during their 37 year marriage. When they are not completing full remodels, they enjoy spending their free time on smaller home projects. Dru also enjoys skiing, golfing, and mountain and road biking.
